Dr. Kaitlin McNamara graduated from the Louisiana Tech University earning a Bachelor of Science in Applied and Natural Sciences. She attended University of South Florida to pursue her master’s in medical sciences before earning her DO at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. McNamara was born and raised in Ruston, Louisiana where she lived until her college graduation in 2012. She then moved to Tampa, Florida to pursue her master’s degree in an accelerated program of a one-year duration. Upon completion of medical school in early 2018, Dr. McNamara and her husband
moved to Clinton, North Carolina.
During her time at Louisiana Tech, Dr. McNamara received the Outstanding Student Award; a faculty-appointed award to a student of Applied and Natural Sciences displaying good work ethic, motivation and success in their field. She was also secretary of the local chapter of American Medical
Student Association; an organized club for activities such as highway cleanups and trivia nights for medical students to help the community and students work together.
Dr. McNamara enjoys playing video games, sports, puzzles and reading during her spare time. She and her husband, Jim, live in Clinton with their two pups and describes her time at Sampson as challenging, yet rewarding. “I am excited to be able to contribute to the community and have enjoyed the community
welcoming us so well,” say Dr. McNamara.
