Dr. Ashley S. Rice graduated summa cum lade from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and minored in dance. She attended medical school at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. She completed her transitional year internship at Sampson Regional Medical Center, where she will also be finishing her dermatology residency. She is currently receiving her training in general dermatology, Mohs, dermatopathology and cosmetic dermatology in Clinton and Wilmington, North Carolina in association
with Crane Dermatology Associates/Atlantic Dermatology.
Dr. Rice is an Ohio native and has lived in various parts of the Buckeye state for twenty-seven years. She is a recipient of the Scioto Foundation Medical Society Scholarship and a poster winner at Campbell University School of Medicine Research Night. Dr. Rice is married to her high school sweetheart, Patrick
and they have a standard goldendoodle, Max.
During her free time Dr. Rice enjoys hiking, swimming, dancing, reading, movies and spending time with family and friends. Of her time at Sampson, Dr. Rice says, “The patients are the highlight at Sampson. They are always grateful for our services and I love listening to their stories.”
