Dermatology Residency

Our Program

Sampson Regional's Dermatology Residency is a rigorous and competitive program that has attracted top physicians across the nation. Designed to offer a comprehensive program that provides clinical, procedural and didactic education in both the inpatient and outpatient settings to help residents become competent, proficient and profressional dermatologies who are certified by the American Board of Dermatology. 

Residents in our program participate in didactic and clinic sessions and complete rotations in settings provided by SampsonRMC and additionially are invited by UNC-Chapel Hill to participate in Grand Rounds. Clinical experience is designed to assure longitudinal and continuity of care training that includes hands-on experience, self-evaluation, and faculty evaluation.  

With a 100% pass rate of the American Board of Dermatology Certification, our Dermatology Residency program is committed to offering superior clinical and educational experiences for our residents. We are dedicated to providing excellent patient care to the communities that we serve by delivering the highest quality of medical, laswer, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Residents are taught in an educational environment that supports both professional and personal growth and teaches residenst to practice dermatology in a respective, professional, and ethical manner. 

At Sampson Regional, we are dedicated to providing an atomosphere of research and clinical study that will impove each resident's knowledge base and create a culture of life-long learning. Residents are involved in various clinical settings and demographics throughout North Carolina that strengthen resident's respect for different cultures and methods of dermatological practice. Our staff is diligent in recruitment of multi-talented residents who reflect the professionalism and passion for serving that our diverse community deserves.

PGY2 - $53,000

PGY3 - $55,000

PGY4- $56,000 

Annual Stipend

PGY2 - $1,000 in July / $1,000 in January

PGY3 - $1,000 in July / $1,000 in January

PGY4 - $1,000 in July / $1,000 in January 

Health Insurance & Wellness Benefits

SampsonRMC offers residents full health insurance benefits. Residents have the choice between a traditional PPO Plan and HDPD plan. All benefit plans are effective upon hire date thus there is no waiting period for benefit coverage. To review our current benefits package, click here

As an affiliate of SampsonRMC, The Center for Health + Wellness (TCHW) offers a discounted membership to residents to help them maintain the delicate balance of a healthy lifestyle. Membership to TCHW becomes complimentary once a resident attends a minimum of 13 times/month for at least 30minutes.
