SRMC is one of three hospitals in North Carolina that has its own blood bank and donor program. The demand for blood in our region continues to grow, so if you are eligible to donate blood, we encourage you to do so. Just one blood donation can save up to 3 lives.
Sampson Regional has a program called the Blood Assurance Plan. If you donate blood with us at least once a year and are a member of the program in good standing, we can credit your account for the price of the actual red cells and/or whole blood if you were to receive blood at our facility. The above credit will also apply to the donor’s spouse and family dependents, as defined for income tax purposes.
Requirements for membership:
-Good general health
-At least 18 years of age and weigh over 110 pounds
-Persons 17 years old may donate with parental consent
All donors live or work in Sampson County, and blood donated in Sampson County stays in Sampson County.
If you are interested in becoming a blood donor or holding a blood drive, please contact Debbie Finney, R.N. at 910-592-8511.
