Food & Nutrition Services

Sampson Regional Medical Center's Food and Nutrition department is managed by Morrison Healthcare.  Behind the scenes of every meal is a team of trained staff who work with your nursing and hospitalist team to the deliver the nutrition you need on the road to recovery.

Patient Meals

We work with Morrison Healthcare to provide the highest quality patient meals through an innovative menu called Great Living.  The mission of the Great Living menu is to make sure that no patient, regardless of their physician ordered diet, ever feels deprived of exceptional food.  The Great Living menu has allowed us to provide fresh, flavorful meals while reducing sodium and fat and increasing fiber and the use of fresh vegetables.  It is the responsibility of the Food & Nutrition staff to provide delicious food to promote healing and wellness.

Registered Dietitians

Our Registered Dietitians (RDs) work with the nursing staff and hospitalist team on a daily basis to provide excellent patient care.  The RDs participate in daily interdisciplinary rounding on patient units.  This discussion allows nurses, therapists, discharge planners, and dietitians to work as a cohesive team to ensure that all needs are addressed promptly and efficiently.
