To our valued members.

3/24/2020

As you may be aware, the Governor has issued all gyms, fitness centers, and health clubs close their doors effective Wednesday, March 25th at 5:00 pm.  While this may close our physical location, we will continue to be the leader in our community for health and wellness.  Please join us on our social media pages, website, email, and text messaging service to receive updates from our staff.  Our goal is to keep you active and motivated during a time when our routines are so disrupted.

Our staff has worked diligently to prepare for our new challenge of delivering quality services and will be sharing some great ways to Rethink your Workout over the coming days.

For our group fitness members, we are working on ways to deliver your favorite workouts with our wonderful instructors, LIVE!  As we get this option set-up we will send out private links inviting you to join in using your phone, tablet, computer, or smart tv.  We appreciate our instructors stepping up to continue to offer this option to our members!  These classes will be in addition to the on-demand classes offered by LesMills.

While we are continuing a portion of our services, we would like our members to know they will not be billed during this closure.  It is important for us to keep you motivated during this time and we feel that all members should have access to these options at no charge.  We will also issue a credit back to your membership account for the remainder of this month (March 26th-March 31st).  This credit will be applied to your future billing.

Please reach out to us at 910.596.5400 or you can email Jared Barrier, Director, at jbarrier@sampsonrmc.org with any questions you may have regarding these changes.  Thank you for your continued support during this uncertain time.

We're here for you.

3/19/2020

At a time when there is so much uncertainty, we want you to know that we are here for you.  Exercising can be a great stress reliever and immunity booster, but with so many questions and concerns of COVID-19, we want to make sure we are doing what is best for our diverse member population.  For members who are concerned about COVID-19 exposure, we are offering a complimentary membership freeze.  Starting today, March 19, 2020, we will waive our $10 monthly freeze fee for any freeze forms submitted on membership accounts. This freeze can be in place for as long as the threat of COVID-19 remains in our area.  We encourage you to do what you feel is best for you at this time, whether that is exercising in our Center or taking this time off.

Our staff is being very diligent in monitoring the situation and heeding the advice of health officials.

We have:

  • Increased cleaning frequency for all equipment and high-touch surfaces using a hospital-grade cleaning solution.
  • Increased our supply of equipment cleaning wipes for member use.
  • Installed additional hand sanitizing stations.
  • Created intentional extra space between equipment on our cardio floor by taking select equipment out of service.

In addition to these steps that were previously implemented, we are instituting some new policies as we navigate this virus.

Starting today, March 19, 2020:

  • We will enforce a limit of only 10 participants for any group activities such as group fitness classes and basketball.  We encourage players to reserve a spot on the basketball court in advance to help control the 10 participant limit.
  • Members & guests should expect screening at check-in.  Please be prepared to answer health-related questions in regards to COVID-19, recent travel to specific areas, and any contact with individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19.

We understand that these additional steps may be inconvenient and frustrating, but we appreciate your cooperation to reduce risk to all who enjoy our facility.

We will continue monitoring the threat of COVID-19.  As this is a rapidly evolving event, we may require other adjustments to scheduling and operational hours in the interest of our members and staff.  Our goal is to keep you active and motivated during a time when our routines are so disrupted.  Please stay alert to your email, social media, and text messages as we think of ways to keep everyone on track during this uncertain time.

Please reach out to us at 910.596.5400 or you can email Jared Barrier, Director, at jbarrier@sampsonrmc.org with any questions you may have regarding these changes.  If you would like to place your membership on freeze, you may click here to download the form and email to tchw@sampsonrmc.org, fax to 910.596.5414, or drop off at our Front Desk.

Remember, we are here for you!

Ever heard the term "You're so Extra?" Well now is the time when everyone can be that over the top, excessive, maybe even a little dramatic person when it comes to sanitizing. We want you to know our team is being 'Extra' when it comes to the health of our members, visitors, and staff. Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a rapidly spreading disease that displays symptoms such as cough, fever, and shortness of breath. With symptoms appearing 2-14 days after exposure, it is imperative that everyone becomes 'Extra' even when they feel healthy.

Here's what our team is doing for you:

  • Deep Cleaning: Staff is disinfecting all surfaces with hospital-grade cleaning solution with increased frequency.
  • Addition of Hand Sanitizing Stations: For quick access, you will notice additional hand sanitizing stations placed throughout the Center.
  • Equipment Wipes: Cleaning wipes are available for members to use before and after using each piece of equipment.

And, this is what you can do:

  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before and after your workout.
  • Wipe down your equipment before and after use with our disinfecting wipes.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth while working out.
  • Limit physical touching: shaking hands, high fives, hugs, etc. should all be avoided.
  • If you do feel a need to sneeze and/or cough, cover it!

Remember, exercising is a great way to boost your immunity and reduce stress so keep up your physical activity for a healthier, happier you!  We are closely monitoring this situation and will keep you informed of any updates to classes, hours of operation, and new offerings to keep everyone safe during this time.  Updates will be sent out by email, social media and text messaging to keep you informed.
