Employee Giving Campaign

Our Employee Giving Campaign gives SampsonRMC employees, volunteers, and medical staff an opportunity to make a charitable contribution to the hospital Foundation.  The Foundation funds programs throughout the year that provide employee support for financial crisis and career development.

The Giving Challenge

When you take the Giving Challenge, you are entered into the campaign drawing for our Grand Prize!  Help us reach our campaign goal by making a commitment at this level.

Employee Donor Wall

Employees who take the Giving Challenge will be recognized on our Employee Donor Wall, located in the hospital Cafe, as well as on this page.

Questions & Answers

What is the Employee Giving Campaign?

The Employee Giving Campaign is an outreach effort by the SampsonRMC Foundation to encourage everyone on the Sampson Regional Medical Center team to make charitable contributions in support of the programs and services provided by the hospital. As employees, we all play a key role in the daily care of our patients. Because SampsonRMC is a not-for-profit, we seek and accept donations from grateful patients and their families, community members, corporations, medical staff, and foundations, in addition to employees. Every employee is invited to participate at any point in the year.

How much is raised through the Employee Giving Campaign?

Our goal for 2018 is $10,000.

Why are donations from employees important?

When our employees give, it sends a meaningful endorsement to the greater community. This is especially important when seeking financial contributions from other sources like corporations and foundations. To tell them that a large number of our employees personally invest in where they work proves the strength of support from those who know SampsonRMC best.

How is the Employee Giving Campaign different than the United Way?

The Employee Giving Campaign is managed internally by the SampsonRMC Foundation. When you make a donation, you are supporting the programs and services of SampsonRMC. The United Way is a separate organization. When you make a gift to the United Way Campaign, your donation is pooled with other donations and allocated by the United Way to other valued non-profit organizations in Sampson County.

How much should I contribute and is my contribution tax deductible?

Making a contribution is a personal decision and any amount is welcome and appreciated. If you itemize deductions on your tax return, all contributions to the SampsonRMC Foundation are deductible to the extent provided by law.

When will my payroll deduction begin?

Your deduction will begin during the payroll period following the closing the of the campaign.  In 2018, you can expect the first deduction to occur on March 15th.

If I sign up for payroll deduction, do I need to renew each year?

If your gift is a pledge over 26 pay periods, you will need to renew your pledge for your gift to continue. If your gift is considered recurring (not set to end after a specified number of pledge payments), you do not need to renew. You can, however, make a change to your donation level at any time. Your change will be made within the next two pay periods from the date your change is received.

What if I already give through payroll deduction and want to make a change?

If you are already making a recurring contribution to one of your funds, you may make note of your change on a new pledge form and send it to the Foundation Office through interoffice mail. Please indicate on the form that you are making a change to an existing payroll deduction.

I would like to make a donation, but have additional questions.

Please contact Amber Cava, VP of Strategy & Business Development 910-596-5422 (or ext. 5422) or by email acava@sampsonrmc.org

Making a Gift

Gifts by cash, check, or credit card are the easiest and most direct way to benefit the Foundation. You may also find it convenient to payroll deduct your gift or donate paid time off (PTO) hours. You can choose to make an unrestricted gift, which means the Foundation will direct your gift where it’s most needed. Or, you can designate your gift to a certain employee fund: Employee Certification Fund, Employee Financial Assistance Fund, or the Employee Tuition Assistance Fund. Whatever option you choose, your tax deductible gift will make an important difference in the care we provide our community and in the lives of
your coworkers.
